Urge Riverside County Sheriff and Palm Desert Police to investigate “Costco girl” abuse
The Issue
We need Riverside County Sheriff and Palm Desert Police to investigate this case brought to our attention by a woman on Facebook. On 8/20/21, the woman made a post showing multiple videos of a young girl at a Costco in Palm Desert California being abused by a family of two women, a man, and multiple children. The girl was not eating and didn’t even have a drink, even though the rest of the family and children were all eating and drinking.
Here is a quote from the woman from the NBC news article “I seen the little girl ask, the adopted child ask if she can take a bite of a hot dog, the father said, you don’t speak and you don’t ask any questions, your sick and you are not allowed to eat,”. This is very concerning to us, why would the girl not be allowed to eat if she was hungry? Why didn’t she at least have water if she was sick?
In the same article, She went on to say “I start asking her more questions, I’m like are you okay, are you okay baby, are you hungry? and she tells me, she shakes her head no, but starts crying more, I ask her three times, she says the same answer which is no, the fourth time she says yes. she says yes she looks up, she looks back down so quick, and the father kicked her under the table, she starts to cry even more. He tells the family ``let's get up and let’s get going,”. This is very upsetting to hear and most certainly a sign of abuse. After this, the woman started recording the family and called 911. The police investigated by talking to the family and not the girl and let them go without documenting the bruises on her body or asking her questions away from the family. In the video you can tell that the little girl is upset, and scared. It’s clear by her body language and demeanor that something is wrong.
We are all so very concerned about the well-being of this child. The woman also mentioned that the girl told her she was being raped and abused by her adopted family. When Riverside police department did their investigation the other day and found no issue with the incident at Costco, we believe that they made a serious mistake. A mistake that could put this little girl in even more danger, and we are worried that she will be killed. Ultimately, the police of Riverside county and CPS have done nothing, we need the child to be taken to the hospital and to be given a rape kit. Its also important that this child speaks with a person or organization that was created to help children who are suffering from sexual abuse. She needs help from someone she can trust, we need to urge them to bring someone from a child rape organization to her so that she can speak with someone who is educated enough to recognize the signs of child sexual abuse. This child said that she was being raped. She looked very scared and traumatized.
We also need the police to review the footage from the Costco on that day. We need costco to release the footage so that the Police can do a better investigation. We also want Costco to release the footage to the public so that we can hold the police accountable.
They weren’t feeding her or giving her water. She looked very scared and traumatized. The family looked very angry and suspicious. The whole situation is not okay, we need Riverside County Sheriff and Palm Desert Police to look into this further as soon as possible. This poor child is in danger. We need them to work with the proper parties to get this girl help. She is clearly being abused and they cannot prove that she isn’t until they do a rape kit and take her away from this family so that she can tell the truth in a safe place. We called Riverside CPS, they said that they are doing a cross investigation with Arizona CPS which hasn’t been done so why did the Police speak with NBC news and tell us that nothing is wrong?
The woman who posted this had both her Facebook and YouTube accounts deleted and she has said that the Police are gangstalking her and have been waiting on her porch. Why are they so threatened by her reporting this abuse? What are they hiding?
