The next federal budget to be announced May 14, 2024 promises $1 billion for housing those fleeing domestic-family violence and $9.4 billion towards building and improving social housing. This is to be distributed over all states and part of a 5 year plan. 

This is such a positive sign of addressing the current crisis being faced by many. I will keep this petition open until such changes occur to ensure the shortage is adequately addressed and continue to wait for my own relocation to safety. 

The last promises our states made to increase housing failed. The most recent excuse was a lack of labour. Let's ensure that doesn't happen again.
