National gun carry permit for truckers
The Issue
Each state sadly in the United States of America these days has different gun laws and even if you have a concealed gun carry permit in your state it isn't recognized in all states you drive in. When you drive nationwide to all states for a living and on the road 7 days a week and only come back to your state you live in a handful of times a year you have to truly live on the road I feel we should have the right to carry a gun for protection, legally in ALL states. If that means come up with a national gun carry permit for truckers that live on the road but drive in states that technically it's illegal and they could get in serious trouble if they ever have to actually use that gun to protect themselves. It isn't okay. This is America and its truly sad that we can't open carry nationwide because let's be honest a criminal doesn't listen to laws. All the cities are dangerous and us truckers are targets in many ways, especially someone like me who is a woman driving this country alone. Especially during many different times throughout the years rioters attacking truckers or anyone on the roads. We have had many instances of trailers being stolen as well as people breaking into our trucks sometimes when we are not in the truck and other times while we're sleeping and the person was going to steal the truck and trailer! Many women have been attacked and raped at rest areas or truck stops, and we have rules about not stopping after you pick up a load for certain amount of miles or not stopping in certain areas because of the things we carry and that puts our safety at risk because people want to hijack the stuff we haul.
Open carry or a national permit to carry a gun needs to happen ASAP for us. Thank you! Please share!

Petition for abolishing the FMCSA
Petition for changing the 14 hour rule. The government and FMCSA can't tell us when to sleep it doesn't work like that as well as other things that slows our day down:

Ban foreign truck drivers. USA citizens only. Must be able to read, write and speak English. No more people here on a visa driving a semi truck! Put them in other jobs.
