On Mar 26, the Michigan Board of Veterinary Medicine found the star of the Incredible Dr. Pol show, Dr. Jan Pol, guilty of negligence and incompetence. Again. The opinion of the administrative law judge in the case is here: http://bit.ly/1a1Uea9 NatGeo is now knowingly showcasing obvious and legally determined medical incompetence and negligence. This company is knowingly selling recordings of illegal acts, and positioning its show to teach people that these acts are desirable- when in fact they have been found in a court of law to harm animals, defraud clients and endanger employees. *ADDENDUM June 13 2015: The judge’s description of Dr. Pol's behaviour meets the commonly understood definition of fraud- the judge states Dr. Pol knowingly represented his services as meeting the standards required of licensed veterinarians in Michigan, when in fact he knew they did not. After Dr. Pol threatened me with a libel lawsuit, I found out the State of Michigan has specific statutes dealing with the deception of the public by someone who knowingly misrepresents substandard services as meeting minimum standards. As a court may argue whether Dr. Pol's actions should be characterized as deception or fraud, I apologize for using the term in my original statement.
