We are appealing to Nigeria government and well meaning Nigerians as well as civil societies to put a stop to Association of Medical Laboratory Scientist/ Medical laboratory science council of Nigeria harassment, intimidation and fighting members of Association of Science Laboratory Technologist of Nigeria/ Nigeria Institute of Science Laboratory Technologist. To allow them practice according to the act that guide the profession without intimidation. Neither AMLS nor MLSCN is a regulatory body to ASLTON/NISLT and therefore has no statutory right to stop them from performing their duties enacted by law and NISLT Act No:12 of 2003. By virtue of section 18 of the Act, the Council of the Institute is empowered to make rules, which rules among others include the area of training and practice of Science Laboratory profession. Members so trained and licensed are authorized to practice in the areas of field of the discipline approved for them. Therefore AMLS/MLSCN has no statutory right to stop or regulate a professional body of the same capacity. Thanks. Change begins with me.
