A great weekend & 13 radiation sessions to go before Clinical Trials

Hard to believe we are over half way through with radiation. The good news is the radiation is doing what is expected. Kayne has some muscle movement back in the left side of his face and his left eye will almost close shut. He is no longer wearing an eye patch during the day, but still wears one while sleeping to protect his eye. We finished up a nice weekend at home. It started Friday with Kayne attending swim practice with the Daytona Beach Swim Club. He got in the water and swam some laps (no flip turns by orders of his physical therapist). He was able to visit with his teammates and also chatted with a few of the younger swimmers on the team. He was given a special hand made quilt made by a grandmother of one of his teammates. Each swimmer was given a square and wrote him a personal note, which was then sewed onto the quilt. We had dinner at Leanh's Chinese Restaurant Friday night. Keagan and Kayne both had worked for Leanh. She was happy to see him and they posed for a picture. Kayne was able to get his "homework" Xbox time in this weekend. He was able to reconnect with some online friends as well as his buddy Jake. We had a special visit from two different friends over the weekend. It was awesome to catch up with our Ky friends who made time to visit. Our neighbors and friends, Mike & Paula Hays stopped by on Saturday and Raeford and Kelly Moore from our Ky church, Christ's Chapel visited on Sunday. Kayne has a goal to grow the #cannonballsforkayne group and foundation (currently being set up) to be great numbers. He wants the charity to help those affected by DIPG and Childhood cancer. The charity will help pay for unpaid medical expenses for Kayne and our family and then continue to help others with medical expenses while undergoing treatment as well as research. Kayne is in a rare scenario. He has a rare brain cancer (DIPG) Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma and the tumor usually strikes children between the ages of 5-9 years of age. Due to his age and knowledge of everything with his medical care, he plans to continue to document his journey and commit his life to preventing and or curing DIPG. He also wants to help others keep their faith with God. How can you help? 1.Pray, 2. Visit Facebook and join his group #cannonballsforkayne, 3. Share and get everyone you know to join Kayne's journey. Donations are greatly appreciated and can be made at https://www.generosity.com/medical-fundraising/cannonballs-for-kayne Note: The funding goal is 25K and not the 10K listed
