The above photo is of the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, Director, Terry Gray, and his Legal Counsel Mary Kay. They presented arguments in front of the State Properties Committee for the State to approve the 20 year street level parking lot. The State Properties Committee approved the lease. The State Propertied Committee reviews all the leases of State Agencies in the State of Rhode Island. It is corruption at its best in Rhode Island.
This election out Narragansett Town Council has a very good chance of NOT being re-elected. The Narragansett Town Council has spent tens of thousands of dollars on litigation to try an micro-manage our Town's long and short term rentals, and in every case the courts have thrown out their frivolous and non enforceable ordinances.
For the long term rentals they created an ordinance to limit the rentals from 4 to 3 students, and the courts ruled 5 is now a fair number if one has the number of rooms to accommodate 5 people.
The Town Finance Committee also wants to give year round rentals a tax break, YET they want to increase the tax rate on seasonal rentals. The town argues the Town of Narragansett it has too many rentals, YET they want to create more long term rentals.
In addition, the Town's assessment on commercial real estate was artificially low in comparison to the increase in the assessed value on residential properties.
Our Town Council stopped our family from putting up a memorial in honor of my father after our family spent 6700 dollars on a memorial that was approved by many of the Town Administrators. We had to obtain a lawyer to get our money back.
Most recently our Town Council attempted to put up time limited parking along Ocean Road and Narragansett Avenue. I had to testify at the Capitol 3 times to fight the Town Solicitor, the Town Manager, Town Council President, and the Town Council President's husband. After sending in a lot of live video and providing testimony on why time limited parking of 3 hours is a bad idea for Narragansett, the State Traffic Commission ruled in my favor and denied the Town's request to put up time limited signage on Ocean Road. Here is one of the many videos I created that I sent to the State Traffic Commission to support my testimony: Dr. Alba's Live Video That Showed No Need For Time Limited Parking On Ocean Road and Narragansett Ave
Regarding our fight against Galilee, this Town Council has failed to fight against the corruption of the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and its egregious failure in its fiduciary duties by giving a 20 year street level parking lot to James Procaccianti and Joseph Paolino after they intentionally abandoned their hotel, the Lighthouse Inn and thereby created tons of solid waste. Here is a link to an interview that shows the outward corruption in the State of Rhode Island with regard to Galilee and the 5 acre parcel. Dr. Albert Alba's Interview on Galilee. RI the State of Corruption
The gross malfeasance of the RIDEM is not only evident in Galilee. Please watch this video that clearly shows the RIDEM Director is failing the State of Rhode Island, BUT our Governor, Governor McKee gives Director Gray glowing praise. Director Gray is Failing the State of Rhode Island
In Rhode Island, our elected officials are also in full support of offshore wind turbines, even though there is evidence that offshore wind turbines and offshore wind farms have the potential to cripple our fishing industry, kill the Right Whales, kill off our crustaceans, the blades can fail as they did in Nantucket, they will forever pollute our unobstructed views, and their cost can easily be passed onto the consumer resulting in higher energy costs. YET, our Town Council has failed to speak out against the Offshore Wind Turbines.
Our Town Council wasted 147,000 on a beach carrying capacity study, as it was well known the Town Beach is NOT overcrowded prior to the study, and the results of the study confirmed the obvious. Our Town Council follows the marching orders of the Narragansett Pier/Town Residents' Association, and sadly it cost our Town tens of thousands of dollars in litigation.
In any event, let's hope we get a new Town Council that will Fight for What is Right, and NOT for What Is Wrong.
I would like to thank each and everyone of you for supporting this petition, and while this Town Council has failed to fight for what is right, it is my hope a newly elected Town Council will NOT support a Plutocracy and allow the Rich and the Mighty to continue to cost the Town of Narragansett in more ways than one.
