As of this writing, 5, to be exact.

That's the number of signatures needed to hit 6,200 in our petition calling on California state lawmakers simply to add "Emperor Norton Bridge" as an honorary name for the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in 2022 — the 150th anniversary of Emperor Norton's three "bridge Proclamations" setting out the vision for this bridge in 1872.

Today is an especially appropriate day to sign, as this is the 149th anniversary of the second of these Proclamations — published in the Pacific Appeal newspaper on 23 March 1872 (see attached).

You're receiving this update because you already have signed. (Thank you!)

But, perhaps you have an Emperor-saluting friend who has yet to be counted. If so, please share the petition with them and urge them to sign.

Let's make a stretch goal of 6,250!

Many thanks!
