Hey, there!
Next Tuesday the 17th is Empire Day!
At 6 p.m. sharp, The Emperor's Bridge Campaign invites all who salute Emperor Norton to gather for a brief commemoration on Clay Street, San Francisco, just across from Transamerica Redwood Park.
This is the former site of the editorial offices of the San Francisco Daily Evening Bulletin — where Joshua Norton on 17 September 1859 hand-delivered a Proclamation declaring himself Emperor of the United States.
The spot will be marked all day long with a special sign and a place to leave flowers.
After a 5-10-minute reflection, we'll make our way to the Comstock Saloon for drinks starting around 6:30 p.m. and a formal toast at 7.
Let's pack the place out for the Emperor!
For details, see the attached announcement.
Look forward to seeing you next Tuesday!
