Hello, there! Three weeks from today, on Thursday 23 March, The Emperor’s Bridge Campaign presents Lights! Camera! Norton! — an evening of short films about Emperor Norton, at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco. The program starts at 7 p.m., and we'll be showing three films — one each from 1966, 1956 and 1936. We think that the last one — a Columbia film short originally shown in theaters — is the earliest dramatic portrayal of the Emperor on film. We'll be showing our own pristine 16mm print of this film. This special evening takes place in the 49-seat Little Roxie screening room — so space is limited. Book now to guarantee your seats! Tickets are $12 — and 50 percent of all proceeds will benefit The Emperor's Bridge Campaign. Members of the Campaign — Emissaries of the Empire! — can get free tickets at the Roxie box office on the day of the show (if any tickets are remaining on that day). For full program details and a link to buy tickets, see our original blog announcement (attached). Please join us — and bring all your Emperor-saluting friends!
