First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt was a legendary leader during World War II. She inspired the nation's home front to victory, including an astounding mobilization and armaments production by the American people.

After the war, she inspired the world to a new post-war vision based on the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and Universal Declaration of Human Rights she successfully championed.

Eleanor Roosevelt was called "First Lady of the World."

The new world that emerged after World War 2 is much different and better than the aftermath of World War One or the thousands of years of human history before that.

United States military production was essential for victory in World War II. USA aircraft carriers were instrumental in the Pacific Theater. The sacrifices of Americans, some the ultimate sacrifice, achieved victory over the dark tyranny of Hitler.

The post-war visions of Franklin Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt that she fought to achieve created a better world.

Eleanor Roosevelt was an inspirational figure and worthy of such an honor.
