Name 21st Street Astoria Park South After Karina Larino

The Issue

On May 6th 2022, my mother, Karina Larino, was struck and killed on 21st street & Astoria Park South while walking home after work. My mother is well known within the Astoria community and has lived here all her life. Karina studied at Immaculate Conception throughout elementary and middle school and continued her education at Long Island City High School and Laguardia Community College. When she turned 21 she began to work for the MTA Laguardia Bus Depot, and the staff quickly became a second family to her.  Her and I have lived on 21st street for over 15 years and are very close with our neighbors. My family and I would like to propose that the corner where she was killed be named after her, but we can't do it without your help. Nothing we do can bring her back, but we'll do everything we can to honor her, so please help us by signing and sharing this petition.
