Raheja Developers has been notorious for launching projects like Raheja Atharva, Raheja Shilas, Raheja Navodaya, Raheja Sampada, Raheja Vedaanta, Raheja Vedaas, etc well over 6 years ago (with promise to deliver in 3 years, and collected over 90% of the payment in first 3 years), but they are still far far away from completion. The buyers are not even allowed to visit their own apartments "for security reasons," making it suspect that there will be any transparency in the work of Raheja Builders.

No work should be allowed by the Private Partner of the Public-Private Partnership, Raheja Builders, till they demonstrate the proven ability to deliver 2800+ flats in 2 years for the displaced Kathputli Colony Residents, by completing and delivering their pending projects which were launched over 6 years ago in Gurgaon and have still not been completed. The projects include Raheja Navodaya, Raheja Vedaanta, Raheja Atharva, Raheja Shilas, Raheja Sampada, Raheja Vedaas, etc etc.

With such an atrocious track record there is high probablity that the Kathputli residents will be in the transit camps like Anand Parbhat for next 5 to 10 years, or if they are kicked out from the transit camp as per the lease agreement of their transit camp, then they will be homeless after 2 years.

We petition the Lt Gov & DDA to please first make Raheja Developers establish a track record of delivery, and complete the projects that have been dragging on for years. Then, and only then, should the govt think of moving the poor residents of Kathputli Colony out.

And it should definitely NOT be done before the Lok Sabha & Delhi elections 2014 as allegations of corruption have surfaced, and hence only when a new Govt is in place should any displacement of the Kathputli residents be done. We also support the call for a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe into the Kathputli Colony as called by Ms Meenakshi Lekhi of the BJP and Ashish Khaitan of the AAP, of a possible Rs 1000 crore scam as alleged by them, to investigate if money taken from buyers in the projects being delayed now has been diverted to this and other projects by Raheja Developers. As this is a Public-Private-Partnership project, we also call for a CAG (Comptroller Auditor General) probe into the accounts of Raheja Developers.

And most importantly, Mr Navin Raheja and Raheja Developers should deliver first their projects launched in Gurgaon and ONLY then be allowed to take on new projects.
