The KSPCA is extremely concerned about the current campaign being carried out by the Nairobi County to address the issue of stray dogs. The County has failed to involve the KSPCA and other animal welfare organisations in this campaign, leading to questions about the humane treatment of these dogs.

The KSPCA therefore calls for full transparency from Nairobi County on:

• How stray dogs being trapped.
• Whether trapped dogs are being assessed to ascertain whether or not they have owners.
• Where impounded dogs are being held and in what conditions.
• Whether dogs are being euthanised and if so, how.
• Whether humane practices are being implemented throughout the campaign.

We urge members of the public to sign this petition requesting the County to be transparent about its operations, both now and in the future.
