Sport plays an important role in bringing the Nairne community together.

Each day of the week the Nairne sporting precinct is home to hundreds of local players, volunteers and families through football, cricket, netball and tennis. These clubs form a vital part of the town’s social fabric and provide opportunities for people of all ages to stay active, connected and involved in community life.

However, the current change rooms and clubroom facilities have not kept pace with the growth in participation across these sports, particularly with the expansion of junior programs and women’s competitions. The facilities need to keep pace with the growth of the local community.

Upgrading these facilities will ensure the precinct can properly support players and officials, provide safe and inclusive amenities for all participants, and create modern clubrooms that allow the space to be activated beyond game day. Improved facilities would enable greater community use for meetings, events and gatherings, helping the precinct become an even stronger hub for the Nairne community.

This is not a political issue — it is a community priority.

We look forward to working with the successful candidate (whoever that is) in the upcoming State Election, along with local council and the state and federal governments, to support the long-term future of sport and community life in Nairne.
