We already have aesthetic statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri between Mantralaya and Gateway, where there is a tall equestrian statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.  A new 22 feet high statue (height of a 2 storied building) in the same location should not pass the standards laid down by the Mumbai Heritage Conservation Committee.

Concerned Citizens are striving hard to maintain the Fort and Colaba precinct as a cultural area promoting the arts and crafts. Let us help them.
