The Freep writes, "While many people have debated what and when the MSU administration knew about Nassar’s egregious behavior, that knowledge is less important than the overall campus climate at MSU, and MSU’s consistent failure to respond appropriately to instances of sexual assault." The Problem is that MSU's Administration ALWAYS SEEMS TO KNOW. They knew when a past Marching Band Director was allowing a Hazing practice called "assing" to occur. This involved older band members placing their back-side/genitals in the face of new recruits. Not only did MSU do nothing quickly about this--but they later gave this band director a distinguished professorship award. They knew that VP Moses Turner was using the student judiciary for retribution against students who spoke out about problems at State--but they took no action, even when it became clear that Turner's staff was also silencing student activists by using their LGBT status against them.
