NHS and home care workers have shown how valuable their work is during this crisis. Let's campaign for a minimum wage of £15 an hour for them and a maximum six clients a day for the home care workers. Also, it goes without saying that all hospital staff, from cleaners to porters to nurses and auxiliaries, should start on £15 an hour and receive a free travel to work pass. If you agree that we owe them a great debt of gratitude for helping to keep us safe, we should show our appreciation not by clapping on the doorstep, although that is commendable, or constantly thanking them at media conferences by increasing  their pay. Clapping and fine sounding words do not put bread on the table. These proposed increases would come from the public purse. It's our money after all and we should make our voices heard when it comes to how governments make use of it.
