The recent incidents in Kerala regarding mass culling of stray dogs have disturbed me. There has been an incident where a pet dog was killed. The reason for this is the rising incidents of dog attacks. But how is it different from what we are doing in the name of festive rituals. No effort has been taken to find the root of this problem. The abusers often get bail for Rs. 50. So the value of our best friend's life is Rs.50.

The news tells us what the dogs did. Does anyone care about what the human did to the dog? Whether he kicked it, threw a stone at it or killed it's puppies.

Why are the dogs in Kerala so violent? Why Kerala? Why not other states? Aggression in dogs is seen for the following reasons.

1. Hunger
2. Death of a pack member caused by humans.
3. Neutering

Please sign my petition. This is the only way to save your dog. There might come a day when your dog is killed for no apparent reason.

Through this petition I would like to recommend a significant raise in penalty for animal abuse.
