In the past year, our residential neighborhoods have been turned into aviation playgrounds, for dangerous activities, at our expense.

We have small planes (mostly recreational pilots) doodling, doing doughnuts, doing "pattern work" and "touch and goes" and excessively circling and looping at low altitude, sometimes below Federal regulations, day and night (as early as 5 am and as late as 2 am). During the weekends (Fri, Sat, and Sun), noise intrusions occur constantly, including helicopters, Cessna, loud stunt planes (85dB - 95dB), and other low flying planes with a history of fatal crashes and safety concerns, BANNED or thrown out of other places (like Sky Combat Ace): https://www.change.org/p/move-sky-combat-ace-out-of-kvgt/u/31730181

Many of these planes have been dumped from Henderson and other problematic airports (Montana, Colorado, Florida, Arkansas, Alabama, Santa Monica …) to North Las Vegas Airport and they are using Summerlin, NW and SW residential neighborhoods as their free auxiliary training ground.

Millions of Americans across the country have found themselves victims of non-stop aerial assault and constant noise pollution imposed on them by FAA’s NextGen: https://nextgenrelief.org/ Summerlin and many Las Vegas Communities that once experienced 10-20 flights overhead daily now found themselves subject to 200-300 flights a day overhead, at elevations thousands of feet lower than previous flightpaths.

NextGen has been the FAA’s Carte Blanche to Wreak Havoc on the residents' Ears, Health, Sanity and Serenity:

After countless numbers of recent deadly collisions of small planes in the past month our safety concerns are growing (Recent fatal crashes: Small plane crash in Compton, Seattle, Helicopter Collision in Riverside, small planes crashes in Van Nuys, Florida neighborhood crash, Long Beach, Murrieta, New Mexico, ...). Every day there is a small plane crash all over the streets of America. North Las Vegas Airport has had its fair share of recent deadly crashes too. They’ve put so many planes on top of our neighborhood in order to yield space, and still come within 400 vertical feet of one another, making the already condensed airspace out of North Las Vegas Airport even more crowded.

In between 450 flights coming out of KVGT, Sun City, Summerlin and NW are in direct flight path of taking off and landing of low flying planes and stunt planes and their war games. There is almost little to no traffic over Henderson Anthem or Green Valley, maybe a few planes flying further away, sporadically. Most of these businesses like Sky Combat Ace and a dozen others (West Air Flight Training) have recently been moved from Henderson and dumped all over Summerlin and NW communities.

'Under siege' by Sky combat Ace loud E300s and 450 low flying small planes, where they get to exploit their privileges by performing incessant touch and go patterns on top of densely populated residential neighborhoods, 24/7.

Sky Combat Ace has modified their engines to be super loud, like motorcycles or sports cars, the horrible noise of Sky Combat Ace loud E300s is affecting tens of thousands of homes west of KVGT and within a three mile radius around it, the streets right on top of their regular flightpaths are being more negatively impacted than others.

A black hole:

In the past year, many residents have been reaching out to authorities for some kind of a relief. However, our legitimate noise and safety concerns have been ignored by many community leaders who have repeatedly told the residents there is nothing anyone could do about anything anymore, other than living with this horrible daily / hourly assault.

The Clark County department of aviation (noise complaint line) has been dismissive, often ignoring and gaslighting residents' legitimate noise and safety concerns. The Clark County (noise complaint) has been actively shutting down residents' voices, labeling homeowners as a bunch of angry disgruntled residents. In an attempt to shut residents up, Clark County noise complaint operator has suggested that there is nothing anyone could do and unhappy residents should move out of their homes if they don't like noise, air pollution, aerial assault and devastation of 450 low flying offensive planes, including Sky Combat Ace loud E300s and other abusive recreational pilots regularly punching throttle to hit nearly 85 dB (early mornings, late afternoons and throughout the day).

Many residents are afraid of speaking up because of retaliations by the culprits and lack of action or incompetence from regulatory bodies. They have seen lack of enforcement as an endorsement to decimate residents with noise, fuel pollution and loud decibels that exceeds FAA's noise limit of 65 dB.

"Making a complaint is manually intensive, and opens one up to more harassment, aviation bullying and ABUSE, and produces no results,  harassment of residents who complain about noise or safety issues at North Las Vegas Airport is real and documentable" says a homeowner who asked to stay anonymous for the fear of retaliation and abuse. Under ADS-B Privacy Act, a growing number of recreational abusive pilots act like high school bullies, regularly turning off their transponders from the public while they are on "full aerial assault".  More and more recreational pilots have become emboldened by FAA's laziness to “aviation bully” homes of local activists that are being targeted daily with fly-bys, dives, low-altitude maneuvers, and other forms of pilot aggression.

No one is responsible for individual flights or collective traffic. (thousands of previous cases of aviation bullying, abuse and harassment, well documented by the the media, regulations.gov and court cases)

It appears that abusive recreational pilots have been given incentives to grow and can behave with total impunity to harm our basic quality of life. The Clark County department of Aviation and FAA have been expanding dangerous activities of recreational pilots out of KVGT and over densely populated residential homes west of the airport. They've done this without any consideration for the health, well-being or safety of the residents throughout the valley.

Residents' suggestions for any kind of compromise have fallen into deaf ears (like rerouting Sky Combat loud E300s 10 degrees north to avoid all homes), or moving Sky Combat Ace, and other regular offenders (Love Cloud, Vegas Aviation, West Air Flight training, BBL VENTURES or Flyright Aviation) to outside the City Limit, or BANNING these short flights (99% recreational) from performing incessant touch and goes on top of congested areas, at low altitude. Abusive N414DK (Love Cloud) tormenting residents this whole weekend by selling romantic dinners on top Sun City and Summerlin golf courses (from 4 pm to 2 am), punching throttle to hit nearly 85 dB to wake everyone up.

We understand this is all about money:

it appears Clark County has been tripling salaries to $475,000/year further burdening taxpayers with higher government spending, a  fundamentally abusive and wasteful practice:

https://www.npri.org/press/clark-county-deputy-da-triples-salary-to-475000-with-unused-sick-leave-cash-out-benefits/

Just look at the average salaries, just ASTONISHING:

We are demanding change.

  • We are asking the community leaders (Congress, City Council, Mayors and Commissioner) to end nonessential flights over congested areas at low altitude. These joyriders are exploiting their privileges by performing incessant touch and go patterns on top of densely populated residential neighborhoods, 24/7. According to FAA's own statistics, less than 5% of aviation is actually 'essential' (fire, rescue, emergency), 95% of aviation activity dumped on top of Summerlin homes is purely recreational.
  • The FAA implemented new procedures at North Las Vegas Airport and Harry Reid, allowing jets and big commercial planes arriving and departing to take shorter routes at much lower altitudes over the same streets and neighborhoods, rerouting this heavy traffic all over densely populated residential neighborhoods, even those far away from the airport.
  • Dangerous activities of recreational pilots at North Las Vegas airport is rapidly expanding at low altitudes (500 ft to a 1000 feet), over long established residential areas where homeowners never expected to be affected by jet noise and emissions. There is a situation of "winners and losers" among residents. Henderson (because of their powerful politicians and lobbyists) seems to be the winner and Las Vegas (in particular Summerlin) to be the loser.

City Council:

We are asking you to request the FAA revert to pre Nextgen flight paths, as it has done in Phoenix and Burien (Seattle), until Council has the opportunity to review and consider the new flight paths. Furthermore, we ask you to move Sky Combat Ace and other stunt planes to outside the City Limit, like Jean airport. Many of these businesses are BANNED in other Cities like Oceanside, CA and dismissed in Henderson, NV.

Senators, Congresswoman, Mayors and Commissioners:

Ask the FAA to move loud stunt planes (Sky Combat Ace) and other low flying offensive planes to outskirts of the City. There are legitimate safety as well as noise issues regarding dangerous activities of general aviation operating out of North Las Vegas Airport and all over densely populated residential neighborhoods. No community deserves to live with such daily/hourly assault and horrible noise and fuel pollution forced upon them.

The constant harassment of American people through abusive recreational pilots should be viewed as the invoice for ANOTHER FAILURE by the FAA to protect American people from the wrath of general aviation (non-essential flights) and excessive noise and fuel pollution.

The FAA is doing a new Noise Policy Review. Please click below for instructions and have your voice heard. Deadline for submissions: September 29, 2023.

Tell the FAA to move Sky Combat Ace and regular offenders out of N/Las Vegas Airport.
