As of today, fewer than 1,700 constituents in Pender County (a county of more than 60,000 residents) have voted in the current primary election. That number represents only a small fraction of our community. The incumbents have been sitting at the polls on the east side (even though they live in western Pender) because they know they need our votes to win; however when it comes time for our voices to be heard, we are ignored. Our comments are deleted off of their social media accounts, or we are just blocked for stating facts. This is not democracy and this is not who we want representing us or our children.

🎓 Why This Election Is So Important

Local elections (especially for the Pender County Board of Education) directly impact:

 • 🚌 School schedules

 • 💰 Budgeting and resource allocation

 • 👩‍🏫 Staffing decisions

 • 🚸 Transportation

 • 📚 Long-term academic planning

 • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family work schedules and student well-being

These decisions shape our children’s daily lives and the future of education in our county.

Key Issues Matter

Recent decisions, including changes like the 3-tier bell schedule, have generated strong opinions across the county.

No matter where you stand:

✅ Know which candidates support maintaining current policies
🔄 Know which candidates support revisiting or changing them
📖 Research voting records (for incumbents)
🎤 Attend forums or review public meeting minutes

Elections are how communities evaluate past decisions and choose what direction to move next.

🌎 Representation Across the County

Eastern Pender County represents:

  • A significant portion of the county’s tax base
  • The majority of the student population

It’s important that every region of the county feels heard and represented in decision-making.

Your participation ensures leadership reflects the priorities of the entire community-not just a small percentage of voters.

🗂️ Do Your Homework

Some candidates identify as grassroots conservatives. Others are supported by established party organizations such as Pender GOP.

Before voting:

📝 Review sample ballots carefully
🔎 Research each candidate independently
💬 Compare their stated goals for Pender County Schools
🎯 Decide which vision aligns with your hopes for your child’s education

🗳️ Bottom Line

If you believe the county is moving in the right direction, vote.

If you believe changes are needed, vote.

If you care about your child’s education, vote.

Low turnout means a small number of people decide for everyone else.

Change only happens when people participate. Your ballot is your voice. 📣

Our children’s education is too important to sit this one out.

The incumbents have been sitting at the polls on the east side (even though they live in western Pender) because they know they need our votes to win; however when it comes time for our voices to be heard, we are ignored.

TIME FOR CHANGE!
