We have created this petition to prevent the unnecessary destruction of a senior manna tree as a ‘token’ to road safety and to petition Council to focus their efforts and expenditure on addressing the real safety issues: increased traffic, speeding and inappropriate road design. According to the Road Safety Act, all alternatives should be explored.

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our Council leaders to take action now to cease deflective plans to destroy this valued manna tree and instead to properly address and correct the ineffective and dangerous design of this section of Balnarring Beach Road between Beach Street and Library Road, to ensure the safety of pedestrians, vehicle drivers and our indigenous animals.
