On Friday afternoon I sent an email to the MPSC planning team and all Councillors for the Mornington Peninsula advising we had reached 500 signatures, and attached the petition (including all your comments).

Since then, we've reached nearly 900 signatures! Incredible! In only four days you've made it clear that the community of the Mornington Peninsula do not want this development to occur.

Today, I've received a response from one councillor:

"This application has generated a lot of responses from the community.  At this stage it is not confirmed what the fast food outlet will be, only that provision for such a facility is integrated into the overall proposal along with an increase in the number of bowsers.

The significant number of submissions will be taken into account by the Planners and a report written with all information in mind.  Given this large number of submissions and the concerns raised the application will come before a Council Planning Services meeting for determination."

This is great news! It means we can continue to grow support against the development, and present this petition to councillors prior to that meeting. So please, keep sharing, keep encouraging your community to sign this petition and let's continue lobbying for our peninsula!
