#whereisourtrack - Mornington Peninsula
The issue
We need your help to get government & council to build a proper athletics facility for all athletes & sporting participants on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Since 1999 we have been told that proper Athletics Facilities are being built on the Mornington Peninsula. It is now 2016.
As a direct result of no proper facilities, our club Mornington Little Athletics may have no choice but to fold our club (despite increasing participant numbers and a rich 45 year history) this coming season. This is because the track that we currently run on, Mace Oval, Mount Martha is 250 metres of unsafe and unstable ground. Our little athletes in the 2015/16 season faced major health and safety issues due to the quality of the track.
We desperately need your help, to ensure that for the 2016/2017 we can continue our club. The council MUST help us find a suitable 400m track and jumping pits before October 2016 as an immediate priority.
Show your support to Mornington Little Athletics Club & all sporting participants on the Peninsula. Help us turn this into a reality. Imagine what all our Peninsula sportsmen, sportswomen and children could achieve with proper facilities - from our junior footballers who want to improve their athletic core, to our senior runners and triathletes.
