Hi all, firstly we’ve just passed 2,500 signatures on our petition, so thank you very much for taking the time to sign.
I wanted to let you know that our voices are being heard!
Council candidates are listening - scroll to the end to see who has pledged their commitment to community consultation about Hosken Reserve.
The State Government is listening - today, the Age reported that Community Sport Minister Ros Spence has decided to launch an immediate review of Moreland City Council's application under the World Game Facilities Fund. The $500,000 funding will be withheld while the review is carried out.
This is the right thing to do.
Community consultation and support are clearly listed in the eligibility criteria for the grants, while the CEO of Moreland has publicly acknowledged there has been inadequate community consultation about the Hosken Reserve project and a lack of transparency in the planning process.
This doesn't mean we can move on - the project has been PAUSED not stopped.
We all need to continue to demand community consultation about any plans for Hosken Reserve (and all public spaces in our community) from council, council candidates, and the State Government.
With full community consultation we can ALL contribute to a plan for Hosken Reserve that meets the needs of all residents and stakeholders.

2. Call for, and vote in favour of, deferring any implementation work at Hosken Reserve, and
3. Call for a report to be prepared by council officers detailing all engagement and consultation which has been undertaken on the Hosken Reserve Masterplan since its inception with all stakeholders, including local residents, and
