MORE HOUSING AND PARKING AT ASU
MORE HOUSING AND PARKING AT ASU
The Issue
The ongoing shortage of on-campus housing and adequate parking is no longer an inconvenience—it is a serious barrier to student success. As student enrollment continues to rise, the university has failed to provide enough housing to meet demand, leaving many students with limited or unaffordable options. This forces students to live off campus, often far from school, creating added financial strain and transportation challenges that take away from their academic focus.
At the same time, the lack of sufficient parking has created daily frustration and chaos. Students are routinely late to class, miss important commitments, or spend excessive time searching for parking instead of focusing on their education. This issue disproportionately affects students who commute and those balancing school with work and other responsibilities.
Students deserve a campus environment that supports their growth—not one that creates unnecessary obstacles. Without immediate action to expand housing and improve parking availability, these problems will only worsen. It is critical that the university prioritizes the needs of its students by investing in solutions that ensure access, convenience, and a better overall college experience.
