Las Vegas Strip, Sandy Hook, Robb Elementary, Columbine, Virginia Tech. These places that I mentioned were all the places that were the deadliest shootings in the United States of America. And involving shootings comes weapons and guns. Guns being a threat to America harms us all. Just one shot can impact a body. As of February 15th, 2024, almost 5000 people died in gun violence, and as of December of 2023, almost 40000 people have been killed by gun violence. All these include shootings. Deaths can be caused by other things, but guns are the deadliest of them all. A bullet to the body may be a possibility that you can be fatally wounded or even worse, death.

This is a personal topic to petition because it concerns me mostly that gun control has to be taken seriously in this country. To increase gun safety in America. Various things to improve like background checks, increased storage safety on guns, a time to verify a license for gun ownership every 5-10 years, and even banning assault weapons. As being in a generation of rising shootings in America. I highly recommend everyone to support my petition. 

Without changes in gun control and gun violence. I believe that things will get worse and worse for people to the point that it is normalized in this country. With a change, we can be able to reduce gun deaths in America, and having crimes reduced as well. 

Together, we can make a change. by increasing awareness of this petition.
