Monmouth County Demands Oversight: Investigate Lunch Break and Gwendolyn Love

Monmouth County Demands Oversight: Investigate Lunch Break and Gwendolyn Love
The Issue
I am calling on the leadership of Lunch Break, the Monmouth County community, and state oversight agencies to immediately investigate the behavior and actions of Executive Director Gwendolyn Love.
Many community members have reported being mistreated, disrespected, or silenced by someone who is meant to serve with compassion and dignity. Nonprofit organizations—especially those serving the vulnerable—must be held to the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.
It is time for the board, donors, and public officials to investigate, intervene, and ensure the community is truly being served—not harmed. If these concerns are validated, Gwendolyn Love must be removed and replaced with someone who respects the people and purpose of the organization.
Please sign and share this petition. We deserve better from the people funded to help us.
Nonprofits in Monmouth County are hurting the very people they’re supposed to help — seniors, disabled vets, the homeless, and low-income families.
Fear of retaliation keeps us silent.
Now we speak up!
Dear [Journalist/Editor Name],
I’m reaching out on behalf of concerned residents in Monmouth County regarding a growing outcry over the actions and leadership at Lunch Break, a nonprofit organization based in Red Bank, NJ.
Numerous individuals — including disabled veterans, single parents, and other vulnerable residents — have come forward alleging mistreatment and disrespect under the leadership of Executive Director Gwendolyn Love. These reports raise serious concerns about how public trust and charitable funding are being managed.
We have launched a petition on Change.org calling for:
An independent investigation into misconduct
Oversight from state nonprofit regulators
Immediate removal and replacement of leadership if claims are substantiated
We would be honored if your outlet could bring visibility to this issue and amplify community voices demanding accountability.
Thank you for standing with the people.
Sincerely,
LaShon Anderson-Bray
