Mongolia's borders have been CLOSED to Mongolian Citizens for over 6 months!!

#Mongolian citizens are not allowed to return HOME due to border closures!! The border restrictions placed by the Mongolian Government are a VIOLATION of citizens' basic constitutional rights and the mandatory quarantine rules are DRACONIAN! Thousands of Mongolian citizens are stranded abroad with mental, physical and financial hardships wanting to return to Mongolia.

The Mongolian Government has received millions of USD from NGOs and International Agencies as part of COVID-19 relief program. Yet, Mongolians can only return home if they can find seats on government-sanctioned charter flights and pay upfront fees for 21-day government-facility quarantine. An average citizen has to pay around $2500 just to return home (one-way ticket on government-sanctioned plane + 21 days in a quarantine facility). 

Mongolians in Mongolia and abroad demand the following:

- Open the borders to its citizens (The borders have been shut since February 2020)

- Reduce the arbitrary quarantine period from 21 to 14 days. (W.H.O recommends 14 days isolation)

- Improve quarantine facility conditions, food and accommodation. (Pregnant women and children and the elderly are placed in substandard rooms with no access to fresh air and sunlight) 

- Allow citizens to quarantine at home if they live separately or alone from family and can guarantee non-contact. (This would reduce Government quarantine facility pressures)
