Save the Broadford Pine Plantation!

On the 17th August 2020, Mitchell Shire Council released a Draft Broadford Structure Plan.

This plan proposes developing 40 residential blocks on the Broadford Pine Plantation.

This will remove 50% of the publicly accessible land in the plantation.

This land was originally donated by the Paper Mill for public use. Allowing a developer to buy and develop the land is not keeping within the spirit of this donation. The land is currently owned by the State Government and zoned for Education. This land was donated for a purpose - not for developers to make profits.

More information including the Draft Structure plan can be found at

Council have allowed limited time available to provide input with submissions closing on 1st October 2020.

The Broadford Pine Plantation should remain publicly owned and accessible. Please sign this petition if you agree that the land should not be sold and have 40 houses developed on it.
