Minority Benefits to Religious Victim's Families

The Issue

Humanity was shocked hearing the intolerable murder of an innocent Hindu tailor, Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

A news about this event: https://www.dnaindia.com/india/report-udaipur-violence-udaipur-man-beheaded-two-muslim-men-kills-violence-video-man-killed-threat-to-pm-ashok-2964243

He is not the first victim. He is not the last victim either.

Religious violence murders not just individuals but their families - current and future generations as well.

Most of the time it is the poor or middle-class bread winners with no political affiliation or religious fanaticism become the victims. Almost all of them are secular in their lifestyle and outlook.

When murdered, their families and relatives lose not just the financial support but also the social and emotional supports required to survive. And, there is no scale to measure and put a price on these loss.

In this way, they become oppressed and a minority community.

Section 2(c) of the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992 states that a 'minority' is a community notified as such by the Central Government.

The minority benefit schemes are below:

1. Educational schemes
2. Economic schemes
3. Socio-economic schemes

Therefore, we, the undersigned, request the law makers and policy makers of India to declare the victims and their families as minorities; and, give all the privileges and benefits provided for the religious minorities of India to the direct and extended families of victims of religious violence. These benefits should be available to these families for all generations.

In addition, these families must be given income tax exceptions too.

Kindly pass a law allowing the direct and extended families of the victims of religious violence to be declared as minorities. They should have the same privileges given to religious minorities. So that they will survive instead of dying out.

Victims die quickly by the unkind hands of murderers. Their Families die slowly by the unkind hands of the society and governments.

After all, the families of the victims too are minorities with no privileges or hope or social support to survive. They are socially oppressed and getting destroyed by various religious genocides and social castaway.

If the government and policy makers want the victims' families to earn a living only by begging or prostitution, may they not provide the much required minority privileges to the victim's families.

If the governments do not give the rights to live to the religious victims, the government is indulging in democide.

Therefore, we humbly request the authorities to do all the required actions to save the families of religious victims and declare the direct and indirect families of the victims as "minorities".
