KARUR COIMBATORE GREENWAY/XPRESS WAY 6 LANE NH 67 EXTENSION PROJECT:- NHAI  is working on  new six-lane (NH67) road alignment of distance of 114 KM from Coimbatore to Karur of state Tamil Nadu. The newly planned road is land marked on parallel to 5KM south off existing road.The new Greenway project South side of Existing road is selected  for approval from 3 estimate project costs of 6 LANE  (i) Expanding existing NH81  road, (ii) Greenway project south side of Existing road, (iii) Greenway project North side of Existing road by NHAI during 2018 itself. The approved  South side of Existing road Greenway project is the cheapest of the above 3 options. Most of the lands are dry lands & manavari lands which majority of land owning farmers offer their full support. But some miscreants at surrounding of Palladam Taluk  viz., some stone crusher unit owners and some other business people in selfish motive protest & oppose the project. They are not land owners or farmers if you ask the land survey numbers of land they have to give for the Greenway Project- the reply would be "NIL".

                  The Govt   presently expand the existing NH81 road also at congested places. So the road oppose persons requisition to expand the existing road is also fulfilled. But their malafide motive is to stop the Greenway project in selfish motive to protect their business rather than majority public interest. 

NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) has dropped the approved and partially worked proposal for widening the existing Coimbatore to Karur-NH81 road from two-lane to six-lane (116 KM) for the following reasons:-

1. Public transportation will improve and road  planned for people and goods transportation at a speed of 120 km/hr:-

The townships in the existing road (Palladam, Pongalur, Avinashipalaym, Kankeyam, Vellakovil, and Thennilai) were evolved (still evolving with global standards) over centuries and huge population is living in these townships and alongside roads connecting to Tiruppur,the master smart city of Export- India. More than 500 state government owned buses ply on everyday (30000 passengers) on the Coimbatore to Karur. And these buses have to run across all these townships , goods transportation heavy & light trucks do lot of congestion in 24 hrs X 7 X365 on this existing NH81 road. Lot of accidents occurring daily on this existing road. No emergency service can be attended in time due to heavy traffic. So the need of Greenway is urgently needed to relieve congestion and easy , smooth & speedy travel and transportation of goods, Govt emergency transport of Military emergent transportation etc., can make use the newly proposed road alignment. As a result, the travel time and ride quality has to be greatly improved  for the general public and Govt.,

2. Emergency service can access the newly proposed road:-

The newly proposed road is access controlled with unlimited entry/exit with 4 service roads (2 service roads each side) covering entire distance from Karur to Coimbatore parallel to the 6 Lane Expressway first time in India(Covering entire distance by service road). Emergency services like fire service, ambulance and police can  access this newly proposed road with magnificent speed thus save human life in time.

3. No Discrimination among people:-

This will create no discrimination among the people.   Cars and big corporate trucks plying between Coimbatore to Karur will pay the toll and make use the newly proposed road. Enough Passenger buses continue to ply on the existing road and new buses can utilize this Expressway/Greenway for convenient smooth long travel thereby to save time & fatigue. This road will be used by  luxury commuters and corporate trucks which cause unbearable nuisance , stress & strain to public due to heavy congestion in the existing NH81 road.  

4. Tiruppur -India's Export No.1 Smart City of Garments originated east and west bound traffic is relaxed from congestion:-

Existing road has vertical connection roads to the export city of Tiruppur which has a lot of medium to heavy weight industry establishments radially originated making heavy congestion in Traffic(buses, cars and trucks) originated from southern Tiruppur to either Coimbatore or Karur. By this Greenway  Tirupur Exporters can transport the goods conveniently with speed to ports like Tuticorin by accessing  the proposed road near Avanshipalayam,Tirupur. Because from Tirupur (smart city) to the newly proposed road distance is very short . More importantly, the present  traffic will happily continue to use the existing road people by the diversion of heavy trucks to the Greenway. 

5. No Agriculture Destruction:-

Since the newly proposed road planned in Greenway which involves lot of dry lands, waste lands, No fertile land  by not to  destroy  trees and agriculture. Hence this greenfield project is safe and safeguard to farmers as well as it definitely improves the livelihood and standard of living of Rural population.

6. Newly proposed road will be opted by commuters:-

Since there are two parallel roads, commuters will continue to choose the old road which is toll free and the Greenway/Expressway Therefore, the utilization of the newly proposed road & existing road will be optimized.

7.Ring road of Greenway/expressway connecting Kerala State & Mettupalayam saves distance & time:-

The newly planned ring road of Greenway connecting at Palakkad in South direction & Mettupalayam in north direction saves lot of time & travelling distance without entering congested city traffic of Coimbatore City.  Commercial trucks and public can reach their destination safely without fatigue with speed. There are lot of Schools & Colleges near the ring road of KARUR-COIMBATORE greenway so it helps student community in their study.

8. Less Traffic cum Revenue for NHAI:- 

The newly proposed road will  address the current burning needs of the people , commercial trucks  and Govt military transportation in a speedy way. 

9.No Alternative suggestion is needed.

10. Miscreants protest can be ignored:-

Some miscreants(private stone crusher units,business people,real estate brokers) in the name of farmers protest against the Greenway project for selfish profit motive against the interest of general public & farmers which may kindly be ignored.

                We land giving farmers  at Tirupur district registered with Govt., an association in the name of "Tirupur District Greenway Land Giving Farmers Welfare Sangh" at Vellakoil, Kangayam Taluk, Tirupur District. Mr.K.K.Palanisamy , B.Com.,Senior Citizen Farmer is the President(94433 41694), Mr.P.G.Sethuram, M.Com., Senior Citizen farmer is the Secretary.(98430 12751). We , land giving farmers,offer our full support to the Greenway Project by passing resolution and sent the copy to NHAI,Coimbatore ,Chennai, LA DRO at Tirupur District, District Collectors &  Ministry of Transport.

                 Hence we request on behalf of land giving farmers community to implement the new Greenway Project KARUR-COIMBATORE 6 lane as per survey done during 2018 as early as possible. The Greenway project definitely improve our standard of living and livelihood. Kindly ignore the protest by the miscreants with selfish motive.
