A known basketball coach who has worked for the club team Kenya Ports Authority, the Women's national team and various high school basketball teams in the Mombasa area has been molesting and raping young girls and women-using sexual favors as bait in the name of offering basketball opportunities. This has been happening knowingly under the Kenya Basketball Federation leadership over the past 15 years. KBF has turned a blind eye and enabled it by giving this coach and others the platform to continue their disgusting behaviors. Through fear tactics and intimidation over the years a victim has only been able to give a statement against the accused coach now after over a decade of his continued abuse and the ball is rolling on making sure this coach is prosecuted accordingly. 

However, KBF leadership must be held accountable as enablers and brought to justice as well for allowing this to happen and continuing to offer the suspect and others a platform to continue their exploitation of young girls.

We petition that a full investigation be done in to the Kenya Basketball Federartion Leadership.

If negligence is indeed proven in this regard, those in leadership step down.

A system is put in place towards the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse ie a code of conduct  signed by all team coaches and officials which if violated has dire consequences.

Awareness sessions are held from the national level to the grassroots for players and officials to sensitize themselves to this commonplace issue.

Confidential but credible reporting channels are available for survivors to report on without fear of victimization.
