It has been observed that the animal welfare and protection laws which already exist are not being implemented strictly. We all noticed recently how two chennai medical students threw a dog from the terrace and the culprits were let off with a meagre fine of rupees fifty even when the laws of imprisonment co-exist. We all need to take action and ensure that the laws for animal welfare are strictly implemented by not just charging fines but also imprisoning the culprit,the provision of which already exists in the law but is not being implemented.So together let's ask the ministry of environment and forests to ensure stricter implementation of animal welfare laws.
