Stop Ontario Provincial Park Destruction

The Issue

There has been an unprecedented increase in the use of our natural spaces in Ontario, including our Provincial Parks during this Pandemic. Unfortunately, with this increase use, there has been a significant rise in destruction of our most precious protected spaces.

While there is ample website invitation to the Park there is little or no education on respectful treatment of these spaces nor is their much evidence of repercussions of the destruction that is being seen.  We are all impacted locally and provincially by the degradation which also includes the species that live there who cannot speak for themselves.

We need to preserve important habitat, safeguard biological diversity and provide rich natural connections for us all- as we canoe and camp in these irreplaceable areas.

We all have a responsibility to care for our wild spaces, to protect them to educate and to bring penalties to those misusing and abusing these precious resources so that all future generations of people, flora and fauna can enjoy and live in these spaces in harmony.

We the citizens implore Minister Yurek to take the responsibility he has to increase necessary funding to adequately protect these natural areas and initiate a policy of education and enforcement.
