Unless there is fear of the law, there is no law sometimes. A woman becomes victim to rape every 16 minutes in India and gang-rape & murder around 1 day & 15 hours according to the National Crime Records Bureau data for 2017.

Rape is rape, and there are two ways to approach the problem. While some believe Amnesty International's point of view that opposes the death penalty in all circumstances, regardless of the circumstances or the nature of the crime. It is believed to be the ultimate cruel and inhuman punishment, and a violation of a fundamental human right -- the right to life.

Others, including me believe that death is too easy for rapists. Instead they should be castrated, tortured and made to rot in prison every second of their lives. Instead, early this November, one of the Delhi gang rape convicts filed for a mercy plea before the president to prevent death. He was convicted of rape and murder under the Juvenile Justice Act and given the maximum sentence of three years' imprisonment in a reform facility, inclusive of the eight months he spent in remand during the trial. The juvenile was released on 20 December 2015.

He tortured, raped & murdered. Yet, he walks free.

Kathua,Unnao,Surat,Manipur,Delhi...the stretching list of gang-rape cases across the nation has enraged people. It takes incidents like this to shake our conscience?

Jyothi Singh(Nirbhaya), Priyanka Reddy...NONE of us want to be India's next 'Daughter'. Lets not let their culprits walk free.

Under the Indian Penal code section 376A,

Whoever, commits an offence punishable under sub-section (1) or sub-section (2) of section 376 and in the course of such commission inflicts an injury which causes the death of the woman or causes the woman to be in a persistent vegetative state, shall be punished with rigorous imprisonment for a term which shall not be less than twenty years, but which may extend to imprisonment for life, which shall mean imprisonment for the remainder of that person’s natural life, or with death. It Is trial-able under the court of session. 

20 years? Life imprisonment? May be sentenced to death?
