DELETE AND BLOCK
AHAR have a known policy of deleting comments that they are uncomfortable with. Whether that is an automatic ban from commenting depends on the day and the admin.
Transparency in rescue is vital for consumer confidence. After all, it is the general public whose hard earned money is keeping AHAR going. Answering and dealing with questions - awkward or not - should be handled with professionalism. Instead, by removing comments and banning, AHAR are giving a sterilised version of the truth with a one-sided view of AHAR.
Comments and questions asked varied from
•Enquiring how animals were doing that they had donated to?
•Asking how dogs that they had fostered were?
•How fundraising appeals were succeeding?
•How a family money was raised for were getting on?
•Wanting to adopt an animal.
•Why AHAR buy from fairs?
•Advising to report abuse.
•Pleading for return of their animals.
•In addition, various other questions that an open and transparent rescue would easily answer.
From people who donated, those who were thinking of donating, to those who had fundraised, fostered and volunteered - no one is safe from deleting and blocking for daring to ask questions or voice concerns.
The former UK fundraiser even highlighted the protocol of deleting comments during the RTÉ update. https://www.rte.ie/news/investigations-unit/2017/0314/859742-ahar-update/
This lack of transparency is another major red flag. What is AHAR so afraid of, if everything is above board as they claim? Read through the comments and view AHAR's own page rules - which in itself is a curious thing for a rescue to need. #EnoughIsEnough #AHARExposed #IsTHISRescue #StopTheCrueltyAtAHAR
