It appears that Council shares our concerns about the inappropriateness of the plan, along with mistakes and misleading information in the application for this development.
Yesterday, the Council sent a lengthy letter requesting further information from the developer. There were 19 issues raised, ranging from the omission of a pedestrian impact assessment report, to not complying with the Maleny local plan code in a range of ways and that entry cannot be via Bunya St.
As the application currently stands, it does not meet the Maleny local plan code, the Transport and parking code, Business uses and centre design code, Safety and security code, nor the Service station code.
Council also details the many errors in the documentation submitted, and asks the developer to "update all technical reports (incorporating any changes to the layout) to provide factual and accurate information about the impacts of the proposal."
We recommend you take the time to read the Council's letter, which is available at the link provided. Search for MCU18/0111 and you can view all the documentation, along with the information request letter from Council.
Synergy Property has 3 months to provide the information to Council. This is in addition to any information required by referring agencies, such as Transport and Main Roads. It remains to be seen if the developer can make the development work on this site and comply with the relevant codes.
