Dubbo Regional Councillors are continuing on with calls for its Mayor, Ben Shields, to resign despite him being in hospital.

On Monday at an extraordinary meeting, six of the eight councillors voted for Cr Shields to stand down when "practicably possible" given that he is in a critical condition after a medical episode. Councillors Greg Mohr and David Grant voted against the motion.

This petition is to support:

•Councillor Stephen Lawrence and Councillor John Ryan should be investigated for going to the media for there alleged allegations and not following the Local Governments Policy and Procedures.

•Seven days will not long enough for a full investigation to be conducted into alleged “serious misconduct”.

•Councillor Lawrence should step aside as acting Mayor whist his allegations and  recommendation is being investigated. In due course, he is to gain personally from the resignation of Cr Shields.
