Focus Dance and Gymnastics (FDG) is a ROBLOX dance game. You visit the studio and dance with your friends. The creator of this game, Mimi Dev, also made the game Dance Your Blox Off (DYBO.) DYBO is very similar to FDG as it has the same animations and controls. Except DYBO is an actual structured game where you can compete with your friends in a competition for who dances the best. 

Now, what's the issue? I have been in FDG for over 5 months now. Here's what I've noticed. Focus is based on a hierarchy. There are ranks you can get. You obtain these ranks by gaining levels from classes and exams hosted by Staff. The problem with these ranks is often you will be either ignored, looked over, or belittled by any high rank. There are generally three high ranks. Elite, Pro Dancer, and a Staff member. An example of this is if you wanted to show a staff member your dance solo. Most likely, you would be turned down or put on a waitlist for someone of a higher rank. You could be the best dancer ever and still be rejected. There are many more examples of this hierarchy.

Every single person I have befriended from Focus has experienced this once or twice in their time here. This has been happening too frequently lately, and the hierarchy needs to be abolished. The fact I am making a petition about this, a video game, speaks volumes for Focus. Now, the community of Focus. I know many people under the age of 13 on Focus Discord bulletins. Here's the problem with that.

Discord rule states: Anyone under the age of 13 cannot use Discord per our Terms of Service. If a server owner is aware and ignores it, we will take action on the server and/or owner.

It has been made well aware this is young children on the Discord servers. No action has been taken. More about the terrible community, there are multiple racist members of Focus. This has also been made aware to Staff. What have they done? Utterly nothing. There was an incident the other day about the Black Lives Matter movement in a dance troupe discord server for Focus. Multiple people who were standing up for the movement and correcting a child who said "White lives matter too" got KICKED from the group dance. High ranks in Focus will kick someone for doing something not nearly as bad as being racist, and the racist children UNDER THE AGE LIMIT will continue to be favored and praised.

The Official Focus-News Server are too lenient with their rules. Many things have gotten by when they shouldn't have. Going along with the theme of the Official Focus-News Discord server, the hierarchy continues there. For example, when hiring a new Focus-News Staff, the majority of the ones who get chosen to become a journalist will be an Elite rank or higher. The problem with this is it is never made apparent in the rules for applications that you must be a high rank. This is disappointing because if a student was to become a member, they could finally have a chance to become noticed. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if Focus actually gave opportunities to students and lower ranks in the first place.

Finally, I want you all to know that I do care about the people in this community who aren't terrible, egocentric, racist children. I know multiple members of Focus who's literal mental health has been deeply affected by this game. It shouldn't have to be this way. I know myself and many others are only still in Focus for the quality of the animations and the way that you dance, also because of DYBO. The community and hierarchy are terrible. We cannot keep ignoring this. Focus has been this way for too long. We need to make a change. Even though many things are not pleasant in this game, we still love it. I could just give up and play a different game. But there are people in Focus who want the same thing. Let's not ignore it. You can ban me, you can kick me, you can do whatever you want to me. As long as people understand this game's community and the general system is toxic, then you can ban me. I just want to make a difference. Too many of my friends have been mentally hurt from this game. There are bullies on this game. Not enough action is taken.
