Missouri Supreme Court sets Execution date for Kevin Johnson; Virtual Press Conference Today, August 25th, 3:30PM CST
Yesterday, the Missouri Supreme Court set an execution date of November 29th, 2022 for Kevin Johnson, one of six people sentenced in St. Louis County, just like Marcellus Williams.
Johnson is sentenced to death for the killing of a white St. Louis County police officer, William McEntee, a crime he committed when he was 19 years old. Despite numerous erroneous and unfair court rulings, grossly ineffective counsel, and racist prosecutorial policies, Kevin remains on Missouri’s death row.
Join Missourians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, the Missouri State Conference of the NAACP, Missouri Faith Voices and attorneys for Kevin Johnson for a virtual press conference at 3:30 PM CST to learn more about Kevin Johnson, and the ways this case is linked to patterns of historic injustice in St. Louis County.
