This is one of the latest cases being rescued by Ajuda a Alimentar Caes. It is an older dog who has not been bathed/cleaned for a very long time.He has knots in his hair as it is so overgrown and is covered in fleas and ticks. This dog belongs to someone as he was taken from a private residence on Madeira

There is supposed to be a new law to protect domestic animals but it clearly is not working on Madeira and people are not taking this seriously enough. They know these laws are not properly enforced, so what good are they?The GNR are supposed to police this but they don't seem to be bothering too much.
