I have just been reading about an animal cruelty case and rescue by the animal rescue  Ajuda a Alimentar Caes in Madeira.

There was a fairly young small dog roaming in the very rural area of Ribeira Brava and had obviously been dumped there. It was covered in flees, had dreadlocks, and worms and only weighed 3kg. There would have been no food in this area for the poor dog and therefore destined to die a horrible slow death!

It is now thankfully being treated by VetMedis in Funchal and hopefully will be adopted, but why did someone have to dump it where there was no hope of survival??
