I have just been reading two blogs on the Madeira island News which says that 9 puppies were abandoned under the airport runway in a chest this morning and also 6 other puppies were left outside SPAD, which is another animal shelter in Funchal but this is private with veterinary services, although they take in abandoned dogs also, but are overloaded now. This is just down to the irresponsible owners who can't be bothered to get the dogs sterilised, hence the problem continues, It's just madness! It could be solved with common sense!!

The Government will be forced to do something eventually to help get these dogs sterilised although as i said there are many irresponsible owners.
