Irlam and Cadishead Say No to Migrant HMOs
We, the residents of Irlam and Cadishead, call on Salford City Council and the relevant authorities to reconsider and oppose the use of HMOs in our community for migrant accommodation. We have genuine concerns about the safety, security and wellbeing of our women, children and families, and believe that the views and concerns of local residents must be heard and taken seriously. We also believe that HMOs should prioritise vulnerable people in genuine need, with appropriate support, safeguarding and oversight in place. Local taxpayers deserve transparency and accountability about how public money is being spent, including the use of taxpayers' money to fund accommodation and associated services. Our community should not be expected to accept significant changes to our neighbourhoods without proper consultation, clear answers and assurances about the impact on local services, housing and community safety. We are calling for a halt to these proposed arrangements until residents' concerns have been fully addressed.
