First, we want to thank everyone who attended last night’s meeting! Your presence and support are invaluable. It was a powerful demonstration of our shared commitment to protecting our homes, schools, playgrounds—and most importantly—our children, from the dangers of a toxic human incinerator. It was heartening to see so many familiar faces, meet new neighbors, and connect with passionate advocates. The leadership team is deeply grateful for your continued support. Keep up the amazing work!

We would also like to extend a special thank you to everyone who has recently donated. Whether you're a first-time contributor or a recurring supporter, please know that your generosity is essential to our efforts. While raising awareness, attending meetings, and speaking out are all critical, unfortunately, they don’t cover the necessary expenses. We are kindly asking for continued financial support. A one-time donation of $50 or $100, or a monthly contribution of $20, will make a lasting impact and help ensure our sustained success.

All donations made through Zeffy go directly to our cause—100%. You may also mail a check directly to the Stop Fairview Leadership Team at:
10 Basswood Court, Red Bank, NJ 07701
Thank you in advance for your generous support.

Recap of the June 4th Meeting

The Planning Board meeting exceeded our expectations. Our environmental expert, Mr. Irv Cohen—who was retained by the leadership team—delivered powerful and credible testimony confirming what we already know: this crematorium is a dangerous and toxic threat.

Mr. Cohen addressed several key issues during his testimony. He began by refuting the cemetery’s so-called "expert"—who is actually just a sales representative for the crematorium manufacturer—by challenging the evidence presented at the previous hearing. He then explained the critical differences between ambient and confluent emissions, discussing their effects on the air, water, and surrounding land.

His focus on pollutants such as mercury, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), dioxins, and other toxins was particularly compelling. Of special concern was his testimony regarding the gradual buildup of mercury. Although emitted in small amounts per cremation, over time these emissions can accumulate to toxic levels, with harmful consequences for both the environment and public health.

Mr. Cohen concluded by stating that the cemetery's application was both incomplete and inaccurate. Backed by advanced degrees, certifications, and decades of experience, his analysis was credible, thorough, and deeply concerning.

Looking Ahead to the August Meeting

We also appreciate your patience last night. We didn’t anticipate the daycare application would run for two hours. For the August meeting, the leadership team will review the agenda in advance to determine the optimal arrival time—so we can respect and make the best use of your time.

We anticipate that the only remaining item on the agenda will be the public comment portion—and this is where you become the rock stars. Get ready to speak up and make your voices heard!

With each passing day, we're moving in the right direction—and after last night’s meeting and Irv’s compelling testimony, we feel even closer to success. But we’re not there yet. Please keep liking and sharing our posts, talking with your neighbors and friends, and helping us meet our financial obligations.

Thank you again,
Fairview Leadership Team
Andy, Rich, Kim, Sharon, Julian, Cassie, Emily, Kate, Regina, and Steve
