Microsoft Rewards has a problem.....

The Issue

When I heard about Forza Horizon 6 near the end of 2025, I wanted it on Premium Edition.  I figured it would come out in October like past releases, it didn't. Preorders started on Jan22, the game came out for Premium Edition on May15, 113 days away. Keep that number in mind, it's important. I had over 140k Microsoft Rewards points, enough to buy enough Gift Cards to cover the game. The cost came out to $127.94 and I figured I'd buy $125 in Gift Cards and use my debit card to pay the remaining balance because I didn't want to have $2.06 on my account to just get picked off. It was meant to be a neat idea. I had received a notification that the purchase went through and I got myself hyped for the game. May 15, I tried to start Forza Horizon 6, wouldn't start. Went to the Forza Horizon 6 page on the desktop app, there was a countdown timer to the non-Premium release date, May 19. The app even tried selling me the Premium Booster Pack for $60, I thought they wanted more money. I went to the website and checked out my order history. Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition Pre-Order, purchase was declined. No warning, no indication, no display of monetary balance on either the desktop or iPhone XBox app (which I check every day), no email telling me my purchase was declined or my $125 balance was any length of time away from disappearing. Just keep me in the dark for 113 days until I check my balance on the website (which requires a QR code to unlock).  I checked how long it takes for monetary balance to disappear from an XBox account, it was 90 days. I have only about 15k Microsoft Rewards points, no monetary balance after purchasing $125 worth, and no game. I'm now playing Forza Horizon 6 on Game Pass and I'm waiting for my mother to let me buy the game on Premium Edition.

This story is probably repeated multiple times for many people simply because of a lack of an easily-accessible display of any Gift Card or monetary balance on the Microsoft Rewards page on the desktop or iPhone/Android/whatever smartphone app and/or a system that keeps track of said balance and gives you notifications of a purchase going through or being declined and if your balance is seven days away from expiring. Any of the above would've given me ample time to rectify the situation by buying more Gift Card balance and reattempting the purchase.  Instead, I got the runaround, three emails explaining the problem met with a response of the email that has the Microsoft Rewards account and the email that has the XBox gamertag being different when I've made sure they matched.

This petition is calling for two main things:

1. A display of monetary balance on the Microsoft Rewards page of BOTH the XBox desktop app and the XBox smartphone app.

2. At least an option to turn on some kind of monitoring system that notifies the user whether their Microsoft Rewards points and Gift Cards purchases do (not) go through AND a warning about when the user's monetary balance is set to expire, either with a display of the date or an email seven (7) days before the expiration date warning of the balance expiring.

If you're sick and tired of Microsoft being greedy, if you've had this happen to you at any point with any game, if you want to have a more complete picture of your balances on XBox, please sign this petition and let's get the full picture on something this important!
