Today is International Women’s Day - a day of celebration!

On this day which honours women, we also raise awareness of how far there is to go to truly gender achieve equality - through protest, raising our voices, and sharing information.

And we cannot forget that the internet is still a dangerous place to be a woman.

Our government will imminently be sharing its new plans for the Online Safety Bill - we expect it to be introduced to Parliament in the next few weeks. It is vital that this new version of the proposed law works for women and girls and specifically names and addresses the abuse we face online.

We are SO CLOSE to 60,000 signatures - please help us reach this incredible milestone by including your voice and sharing our petition as widely as possible.

Soon your MP will have the opportunity to try and amend the bill. If you do one thing on International Women’s Day, tell them you want a better internet for ALL. This will only be possible if we name the disproportionate impact of online abuse on women and girls.

Laws like the Online Safety Bill must include violence against women and girls. It must be intersectional. It must create the online freedoms and safety that women and girls deserve.

Our experiences online and offline are intertwined and work to prevent abuse cannot and should not be separated out.

Mark this day by sharing our petition with your friends and family this International Women's Day to change the online world for women. Happy International Women’s Day to all!
