Howdy!
The amount of support we’ve received on our petition has exceeded all of our expectations. In just two weeks we’ve gotten over 250,000 signatures, the story behind our campaign has been picked up by Fox News and The New York Post (linked below), our petition has been shared by celebrities like Fran Drescher and Deirdre Lovejoy, and student involvement at Texas A&M has been higher than ever before.
Administrators at our university have been paying close attention to our momentum. They know that we’re determined and they know that with your help, it will only be a matter of time before the dogs in Kornegay’s lab finally experience freedom.
However, if we’re to achieve our goals and grant these dogs their freedom, we need to keep going strong. We’re going to need your help now more than ever. Please share our petition widely: to friends and family, colleagues and co-workers, on social media and through email. We need every signature we can get to show Texas A&M we are serious.
We will be starting a fundraiser soon and using the funds to find loving homes for the dogs once they are released from Dr. Kornegay's lab. We would like to be able to make the transition as easy as possible and give their adopters all the right tools to take care of a dog affected by Muscular Dystrophy (MD). We are confident we will be able to shut down these labs and we just need your help to keep the momentum going.
Thank you again for your continued support, compassion, and dedication.
