Protect our pets' EU travel rights when Brexit happens!

Every year many thousands of us enjoy making the journey to mainland Europe with our beloved pets (cats, dogs, etc). Thanks to the EU Pet Passport scheme the process has been wonderfully smooth sailing both ways, and in the vast majority of cases none of us have had to put our pets into dreaded quarantine when we return to the UK.

After Brexit (when the UK would also drop out of the EU Pet Passport scheme) if the issue has not been properly resolved, then UK pet owners face the real risk of getting entangled in a bureaucratic and emotional nightmare - both when we travel to or between EU countries and when we return to the UK. We could even face the prospect of having to put our pets into quarantine, a return to a sad and sometimes dangerous situation which we evolved from not long ago.

So let's make sure our beloved pets are not forgotten during the Brexit negotiations! Can you imagine no longer having the total freedom to travel to or from mainland Europe because politicians did not think about your pet pooch or cat?
